The SESAME project presented many outcomes during the important NUclear REactor Thermal Hydraulics (NURETH) in Portland. More than 10 scientific papers of SESAME work were presented. On top of that, two keynote lectures of prominent SESAME colleagues were provided. And finally, 2 SESAME papers were selected by the Honors and Awards Committee to receive one of the 8 best paper awards prior to the conference banquet.
We congratulate Julio Pacio, Markus Daubner, Thomas Wetzel, Heleen Uitslag-Doolaard, Akshat Mathur and Ferry Roelofs for receiving the best award for the paper titled “Inter-wrapper Flow: LBE Experiments and Simulations” which shows what excellent collaboration between experimental and numerical experts can lead to. We also congratulate Jorge Yanez and Andreas Class for their paper titled “Analysis of the Accuracy of Residual Heat Removal in Gen-IV Reactors”. Both best paper awards were selected on the basis of the quality of the paper alone after a rigorous review process, a down-selection by the track chairs and a final round of review by a panel of international experts.
