During the 17th International Topical Meeting on Nuclear Reactor Thermal Hydraulics (NURETH-17) in Xi’an (China), Heleen Doolaard won a Young Professional award for her paper: ‘Experiment design to assess the inter-wrapper heat transfer in LMFR’. The work described in this paper was performed within the framework of the European SESAME project in a collaboration between the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and NRG. The paper was co-authored by Julio Pacio and Abdalla Batta from KIT and Ferry Roelofs from NRG.

The NURETH honors and awards committee says: “The selection was solely based on the outstanding quality of the paper.” The award was formally announced at the NURETH official banquet where Heleen Doolaard was represented by her colleague and co-author Ferry Roelofs to officially receive the award from the hands of Prof. Ninokata, chair of the honors and awards committee, and Dr. Elia Merzari, chair of the sub-committee on young professional awards.
